MenuThe demolition of the old buildings is complete now but to get to this stage has taken many, many months of combined efforts by those such as Northumberland County Council, Amble Town Council, Amble Development Trust, Northumbria Police, the Local Multi Agency Crime Prevention team. It was hampered considerably by the many changes of management at Tesco and their repeated stance of ‘the normal practice is to demolish when we develop’ despite being told of the terrible deterioration and the safety problems on the site.
No it is complete it looks so much better and is safer too. Sadly though we don’t seem any nearer to getting the revised plans for the new store and must wait yet again until Tesco business heads decide the time is right to go ahead.
